Slave Less, Say YES: DIY Beauty GIVEAWAY

I was thrilled when I was selected to write a sponsored post for Silk’n SensEpil.  For years I have struggled with hair removal.  I remember being a self-conscious 11 year old who wasn’t supposed to shave her legs yet, while all the girls in the locker room at gym class already did.  I had dark hair that was very obvious to me and those mean girls.  After tolerating my share of teasing, I started dry shaving my legs with my mother’s discarded disposable razors.  It’s probably through sheer dumb luck that I didn’t end up slicing my leg or getting painful ingrown hairs.

Well, I’m older, but not much has changed.  I’m still self-conscious about my body hair.  And as you well know, it takes time to remove everything from the legs and arm pits and…etc.  When I moved in with S, he commented that my showers took a long time.  I explained the reality of the situation.  He settled down.  Then the first water bill arrived.  He had never seen one so…big. Thus began a discussion about hair removal options and a potential removal schedule and what I could do to help conserve water.

So, when I had the chance to get a laser hair removal system to use inside the home, how could I resist?  Someone was actually going to pay me to write about laser hair removal, provide me with the system, and solve one of our areas of contention around the house.  Win win win!  Oh, and a big hairless thank you!

There are many reasons to consider laser hair removal and the Silk’n SensEpil in particular…

  • It’s cost effective! If you remove the offending hair, you save money on razors, shaving gel, and water.  That’s a lot of saving.  Not to mention when you purchase this product in particular, you are able to remove your hair at a fraction of the price you would pay to have it removed at a spa or center.
  • The Silk’n SensEpil prived broader coverage. While most of the products in the offices only laser 1cm of skin at a time, this product will cover 6cm at a time.  This means the process takes less time.
  • The Silk’n SensEpil is face friendly! While other home products have yet to be approved as safe for the face, this one is.  Yes!  Never worry about rogue face hairs again.
  • It’s simple to use and rapid results. When using this product, removing the hair from a man’s chest or a woman’s leg only takes 15-20 minutes.
  • Silk’n SensEpil is convenient and private. It is used in the privacy or your home and only on your time schedule.  No appointments to make.  No appointments to keep.

**Please note…If you have dark hair and dark skin tones, Silk’n SensEpil may not work for you.  The laser may have trouble distinguishing between the hair and the skin.

Oh, and here’s the part you are most interested in…for a chance to win a free Silk’n SensEpil, readers only need to submit a personal humorous or horrific tale about their hair removal experiences in the comment section.

For those who can’t wait, the company is offering a coupon:

20% OFF Silk’n SensEpil Products. (Offer Valid September 1st – December  31st, 2011 $200 minimum purchase required) The promo code to redeem this offer is: “Beauty20”

Good luck!  I can’t wait to read that I haven’t been suffering alone.

Ashley says:

I was in beauty school to become an esthetician. It was waxing day and I decided to be the “wax dummy”. Meaning I would let my fellow classmates wax my arm. Let me tell you by the time it was over I was missing skin! I hate shaving, and waxing! I would love a system that works to get rid of hair. I frequently get in-grown hairs too. This system looks awesome!

Keenie Beanie says:

I don’t have any great hair removal stories – being a pasty pale platinum blonde means I can get away being rather cavalier about hair removal.

But there was the time that I had a bikini wax (ironically delivered with the least amount of pain EVAH) and then found out a couple days later it had been delivered by my ex-husband’s new girlfriend when I ran into her at his house while picking up some mail. Awkward!

Heather! says:

I am paraplegic and use a wheelchair, so EVERY hair removal session is a bit of a horror story! Have you ever tried to shave or even use a depilitator while sitting down? For the WHOLE time?! It’s not easy. That’s why I really want to try laser hair removal; it should last soooo much longer than your basic shave.

Thanks…sounds like an awesome product!

Meredith says:

A single horrendous hair removal story? Oh honey, I’m full of them! Why, one time Brian burst into the bathroom, unwilling to wait 5 more minutes to use the toilet — while I was in the middle of shaving. Startled, I nicked myself pretty good. It’s also just a teeny, tiny little cut, but boy oh boy do they bleed! And getting water in a shaving nick? Ugh! It’s like that one spot on your body is getting showered in salty lemon juice mixed with rubbing alcohol.
