I have been blessed.  Without a doubt, I am really fortunate.  Much of my good fortune I attribute to the people I have in my life, my loving and supportive family, my amazing children, my incredible fiance, my wonderful friends and neighbors, but some of it comes from sheer dumb luck.

And lately, that good fortune has spilled over into blog business.  It seems like every day lately I have opened my inbox to discover that someone wants to give me stuff to review or stuff to give away to all of you.  Thus, begins a new chapter in the blog.

I’m going to call them…Fat Friday Giveaways.  And I’d like to encourage you to enter…often.  You know me.  I like my contests nice and simple.  And I’m super excited about this first giveaway.  Ready?

So, on Monday, I was contacted by The Virgin Mattress.  Interesting name for a mattress, right?  Oh, but I love the concept behind it because I soon realized this was a prime opportunity for me to win something that I really needed…a new mattress.

At the risk of repeating myself, just know that I gave my ex-husband the ‘I’m Sorry Bed’ in the divorce.  Had I held out for the Kobe Bryant ‘I’m Sorry Necklace,’ my finances would be much different.  And I could afford my own new virgin mattress.  I couldn’t see starting a new life on an old mattress.  I couldn’t see starting a new relationship on a bed with so much history, so much bad juju.

Luckily, HE had a bed.  After I thought about his bed’s juju I cringed, but still, the bed has served us well for the last few years.  It has its own history.  And I’m probably glad I don’t know all of its mysteries.

HE had the foresight to suggest that we make some changes to the room when we first became serious, changes that would make the room OURS.  And so we changed out the light fixture and painted an accent wall behind the bed.  We installed new drapes and blinds.  We picked out new bedding.  It wasn’t much, but it was enough.

Now, however, I want more.   I need more.  More than anything, this should be our fresh start, our new beginning.

That’s why when I was contacted about a contest where I could win a new mattress, I knew I had to give it a shot.  If you have a similar story, you should enter, too.  Shoot, if you have an old mattress, you should enter, too.

Once my video is completed, I will, of course, share it.  In the mean time, they are sending me a pillow to review.  I love pillows!  I love anything that screams comfort and warmth and home.  Yay, pillow!
