Best exercise…
Author: thenicknick
Okay. I have never pretended to be the all-knowing exercise guru. I have tried more programs over the years than I can count on both hands. And I’ve had some mixed results.
Please take a moment and let me know what exercise regimens you’ve had the best results from.
Here’s what I’m looking for:
- fast results
- no longer than forty-five minutes a day (I cannot get up any earlier in the morning)
- burns fat
- tones muscle
- does not involve a ridiculous amount of skill or coordination (I’m clumsy and low skill)
Let me know!

Hey Nik!!!
I have trained people in exercise and done seminars on nutrition. Your quest will be 50% exercise and 50% in eating habits.
Do this routine at least 3 times a week. Mornings are usually the best time to work out. (If you can wake up enought to do it..) Start the routine with some ab work. 25 normal crunches followed by 25 to the left and 25 to the right and then 25 straight up the middle again. (you will feel it, believe me…and it doesn’t have to be 25 at the start….whatever you can do….but do push your limits..)Next, use light handweights to work on the arms and shoulders….then take a brisk walk or bike ride for more than 20 minutes. The body begins to burn fat at a high rate after the 20 minute mark, so every minute after the 20 is doing the magic.
Also….alot of marathon sex helps with fat burning as well…and you will need a partner to help with that!!!
As far as eating…It is a mathematical solution. Less total calories and more exercise = leaner body. Do NOT starve yourself, but eat small meals every 2-3 hours….never eat within 2 hours of going to bed. Your biggest meal should be early in the day.
Good luck, Nik
This routine WILL work!!!

Okay…the 50/50 diet exercise thing…is that set in stone? I’m not sure if you picked up on this…I LOVE FOOD! So, I’m good with the ‘don’t starve yourself’ part. And I guess I have to get disciplined and organized enough to do the five small meals a day thing. (There has to be enough of the right food there ready to eat, right?)
*sigh* And I suppose I will have to enlist S’s help, huh?
Thanks for the advice! I will let you know how it works out.

Hey girl! Do you belong to a gym? I have to say that I just started a new workout that is pretty much the trend right now but I have def increased my strength and noticed my waist getting slimmer. It is called kettlebells. Google it.
I have been running for awhile but last summer I started working out with a friend. That is prob the best motivation…having someone to suffer with. Our routine is a pull workout on Mon and SOMETIMES I either do spinning or run on the hamster wheel but to be honest I mostly skip cardio on Mon. Tues I run about 4 miles (well the route is 4 miles, I don’t always run ALL of it) then off to the gym for a push workout. Thursday is Kettlebell class (45 minutes) and SOMETIMES kickboxing but I don’t really like it so I have started skipping it. Fri is a 2.5 mile run and when I am around I will do the 45 minute kettlebell class on Sat mornings. Once I started weight training I felt stronger right away but it took about 8 months to REALLY see results. But with the kettlebells I have seen more improvement quicker. So if you are looking for something that doesn’t take too much time and gives results quickly try the K-bells but after awhile your body will get a little bored so you have to switch it up.
I am with you on the food part…I love it too, sista!!!

Belong to a gym? I’m not sure I belong in a gym! There are so many places and so many ways to get hurt for someone as clumsy as I am. I am intrigued by this kettlebell class. I will look it up and see if they have anything in Charlotte.
Thanks for the advice. And girl, try to take it easy on the body. You must be svelt.

The part about the food is that you should keep in mind that ‘too much of anything is not good for you’, so eat small proportions of whatever you like to eat…The nutritionists say that you should cut down on fatty foods and increase your metabolism with exercise, but really it is a simple math equation.(Total caloric intake must be less than the total calories burned). Keep eating throughout the day, but eat less as the day progresses. Exercise 3 times a week….get plenty of sleep and try to eat lots of protein to increase muscle mass….muscle burns many more calories than fat, so the more muscle the better.(don’t worry, the bodybuilder chicks are all on steroids, so you won’t end up looking like Lou Ferrigno…) Anyway, just keep it simple…exercise 3 times a week, eat 5-6 times a day…do NOT let yourself go hungry…the body holds on to fat when that happens as a defense mechanism against starvation. Try to do it for 1 month…you will have to buy new clothes, though.
Take care and if none of this works for you, just remember what George says when things don’t go as planned….”Fck it!”

So, I’m not a blond? I’m crushed!
Thank you. And if I were as easily suggestible as you, I would definitely go for hypnosis.
